The Saturn Nebula

The Saturn Nebula in Aquarius is listed as NGC 7009 and is a fine example of a planetary nebula. Although the view shown here does not particularly resemble the planet Saturn, through small telescopes much of the colour is lost and it looks somewhat like the Solar System's ringed planet when the rings are presented edge-on to us. The Saturn Nebula is about 3900 ly away and 0.5 ly in diameter. Its magnitude is around 8.50
