Barnard's Star is a dwarf star in the constellation of Ophiuchus. Due to its relative closeness and direction of travel, it exhibits the largest proper motion across the sky as seen from Earth. In only 200 years it shifts across the background by the apparent diameter of the full moon.

In Frontier, the Barnard's Star system is only worthy of note in that it provides a safe and fairly profitable trading route between it and Sol. This is of huge benefit to the newly-qualified Frontier pilot.
