Hubble Gallery - The Hubble Deep Field

This is a small section of the famous Hubble Deep Field photograph, which the telescope took in December 1995. It shows countless, never-before-seen galaxies of all shapes and sizes.
The instrument used was the Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 (WFPC2) and is a tiny view less than 1/30th the width of the full moon. The blueish objects are relatively close and the redder ones further away.
